A nuclear weapon is an explosive device that derives its destructive force from nuclear reactions, either fission or a combination of fission and fusion. Both reactions release vast quantities of energy from relatively small amounts of matter. The first fission (“atomic”) bomb test released the same amount of energy as approximately 20,000 tons of TNT. The first thermonuclear (“hydrogen”) bomb test released the same amount of energy as approximately 10,000,000 tons of TNT.

A modern thermonuclear weapon weighing little more than a thousand kilograms (2,200 pounds) can produce an explosion comparable to the detonation of more than a billion kilograms (2.2 billion pounds) of conventional high explosive. Thus, even single small nuclear devices no larger than traditional bombs can devastate an entire city by blast, fire and radiation. Halloween Party Game Vampire Hunter

Vampire Hunter is a great game to play at a Halloween party, especially if you have a large number of guests.Vampire Hunter is also known as “Vampires And Villagers” or “Secret Vampire”.

First of all, you have to assign roles to people. One person is the narrator. All the rest are villagers. One of the villagers is secretly assigned a dual role as both a villager and a secret vampire.

All of the villagers and the secret vampire sit on chairs in a circle in the room. The narrator sits in front of everyone.

The narrator asks all of the other players to close their eyes and pretend to be asleep. They are all villagers, asleep in their homes.

Then the narrator says “Vampire awaken!” The secret vampire opens his eyes. The narrator asks him to point to the villager he would like to kill. The murderer points to any person in the circle, and then closes his eyes and pretends to be a villager again.

Then the narrator says, “Villagers awaken!” Everyone opens their eyes, including the secret vampire. The narrator reveals who the vampire has chosen to kill and the victim must lie down on the floor in front of everyone and pretend to be dead.

Now the villagers get a chance to discuss who they think the secret vampire is. The secret vampire, pretends to be a villager and tries to shift suspicion onto someone else. Finally, the villagers must chose one of their own to kill.

When the villagers pick someone to kill, the narrator must tell them if they have chosen correctly. If they picked the wrong person, the narrator says “I’m sorry, you have murdered an innocent person” and the victim lies down in front and pretends to be dead. If they picked the secret vampire, the narrator says “Congratulations, you have killed the vampire and saved the village” and the game ends.

As the game goes on, there will be a pile of dead bodies lying on the floor. The game will continue until the villagers figure out who the secret vampire is. If they don’t figure it out, the vampire wins.

Nothing says evil like the school girl. Innocent at first, she'll wrap you around her finger with her web of lies and then give you the punishment that you probably deserve in the first place. If your project is a little more adult related and you need an image to spice things up a bit, then throw my ex-girlfriend here into the mix. If she's going to be at the party, count me in!

When all is said and done, the mood of Halloween plays a major role in creating the ultimate haunted atmosphere. What good is a bunch of scarecrows and wolves drooling blood gonna be if the sun is shining in their eyes? Or if it's pitch black and you can't see anything at all?

No, to truly experience the dread that is Al Hallows Eve, you must have just enough light to see the blood and gore and brains, and it's not coming from a glow-in-the dark safety sticker. It's coming from the full moon, the sister world of earth that shines its uncertainty into the skies above us as we tremble in fear of all that Halloween has to offer us. Trick or treat!

Wooden Birdie

Make handmade toys for baby easily out of wood! Even if you’ve never done any woodworking before you can make this simple birdie toy. This small birdie is the perfect size for a baby to grasp and bang against other toys. Leave it natural and it could be used as a teether…but please make sure you are using woods that are safe for teethers.

Toy Bird

My one year old picks his birdies up and says “tweet! tweet!” and pretends to fly them around. As he gets older I know that more elaborate pretend scenarios will arise from the wooden toys I’ve made him.

Materials Needed:

Wood - 1 inch thick wood board (which will actually be 3/4 inch thick). A good size to start with is 4″ - 6″ wide by 12″ long. Beginners should use pine because it cuts easier and is the cheapest. Pine (a softwood) is ideal if you will be using a coping saw because it will be much faster to cut. Check what hardwoods are available in your area as prices will vary greatly. I use poplar, beech, cherry, maple and douglas fir. The birdie in these instructions was made of poplar. If you plan to use a coping saw, use pine or another soft wood.

Scroll Saw or Coping Saw

If you can operate a sewing machine you can operate a scroll saw! It really has the same feel, only where a sewing machine attaches a scroll saw cuts apart. The instructions shown are for a scroll saw, but If you don’t have access to a scroll saw a coping saw is a much more affordable option. A coping saw is a handheld saw that does the same thing…only you have to do the work! I suggest starting with pine if you will be using a coping saw.

Sandpaper - You’ll need medium grade (100) for sanding edges and a fine grade (220) for finishing. YOu may also use sanding drums with a rotary tool to save time on the edges.

Optional Paint/Sealers - You can leave your birdie all natural, paint it or seal it using a variety of methods. Please read the instructions below for natural and baby safe finishing option ideas and tips.

Wooden Birdie Toy Instructions:

Print out and cut out your birdie template and trace onto your wood with a pencil. Use a pencil so that you can erase the lines when you are finished, in case you cut out of the lines.

Step Two

Cut out along the pencil lines using your scroll saw or coping saw. Try to stay directly on the pencil lines but don’t worry if you veer off a bit. Take it slow and know that you can always stop and adjust. If you are using a coping saw I find it easiest to clamp the wood down to my work table so I can have both hands free for guiding the coping saw. Then remove your wooden birdie shape. See, isn’t making handmade toys fun?

Step Three

Now sand all the sharp edges down so they are rounded using the medium grade sandpaper and then finish by sanding the entire bird with the fine grade sandpaper. It is very important that you sand down any rough or sharp edges when making handmade toys for babies so take the extra time here to make it nice and smooth.

Step Four

You can also use a rotary tool with a sander attachment to further shape and round the edges even faster! You will still need to hand sand with the fine grit sandpaper after using your rotary tool on the edges though to get a truly smooth finish.

Now your bird is finished! You can leave all natural or seal the wood with a natural, childsafe wood sealer. If you want color, you can even paint the birdie with non-toxic paint! Make several in a rainbow of colors!

Once you master this simple technique you can branch out and create more animal shapes! These birds are the very first thing I learned to make and it opened up a whole new world of handmade toys for me. Enjoy!

It is believed that, he did this to please the spirit of a little girl who had drowned in the canal. Whatever may be the reason, he managed to turn this island into a bizarre, scary place where an eerie eye of mutilated dolls haunts your every move, on this strange island.

Don Julian is said to have led an isolated life ,except when he ventured to collect old dolls that he either scavenged from the garbage dump or bought in exchange for his homegrown fruits and vegetables. Personally one is made to believe that he obviously did not like intrusion and tried to scare off inquisitive onlookers by hanging scary doll faces. In 2001, Don Julian was discovered drowned to his death in the same canal surrounding his home. Its not always that you can look at a child’s face and know he’s going to make a fortune. To me all children look the same; yes I’m sure they do. And when they’re real young they look the same. They all look pretty and nice. There’s no way you can tell this ones going to grow up and be a Hollywood star.

Ballet is a standard art form today, known and loved by audiences across the world. But how did this beautiful art get its start? When and how did the concept of ballet form? Read this article for a brief history of the origins of ballet.
Ballet is an elite form of dancing that requires much foot muscle movement, and suspension on the toes. There is no singing done in a typical ballet; dance is performed purely to an orchestral accompaniment. Story and plot are conveyed through a dancer’s actions and facial expressions, along with orchestral coloring.
Early ballets in France were known as “romantic ballets.”
Ballet first appeared in Rome during the Roman Pantomime. Roman Pantomime is a Greek tragedy mainly of speaking and dancing, with emphasis on facial and bodily movements to transmit a plot. Ballet, along with other forms of art, disappeared for a time during the Middle Ages. It returned in the “courtly entertainments,” or lavish plays and dances put on for kings and courts in the early years of the Renaissance. Thinkers of the Renaissance hearkened back to Greek ideals in dancing and singing. Ballet first appeared in Italy, at the urging of the Medici family. A sponsored performance, “Le Ballet Comique de la Reine,” made ballet a common appearance in courts across Europe.

Famous contributors to the ballet world include Stravinsky, with his “Rite of Spring,” Profokiev, with “Romeo and Juliet,” and earlier composers of the courtly entertainment and opera who integrated ballet into scenes and between acts. Ballet today is very different from ballet of the past. It is not uncommon to hear ballet to techno music, see dancers in suits and strange dance attire, and watch a ballet that consists of someone speaking, while a dancer dances to their words.
